If we wish your children to treat us well when we are old... Treat them well when they are small and provide them good examples as our children learn more from what they see rather than what we say while they are young"

Tips for Helping Kids Do Well in School

Children need to get enough sleep, so they can awaken refreshed and ready to face the day. A nutritious breakfast and lunch will help them sustain the blood sugar levels that help them concentrate and get along with others. .
Make homework time a regular part of your child's routine.(probably before bedtime).

Another great activity for connection time when your child does not have homework is to watch a movie. Make it a learning experience (rather than just pure entertainment) by choosing a classic or a movie in which the character has to make tough choices. After the movie is over, talk about the movie and help your child learn from the character's growth in the story.

•Remind yourself that children need to learn how to learn. Knowing how to be a good student is a skill that is learned when caring adults take the time to teach children how to get organized, how to apply themselves and how to study.

•Establish a strong, positive connection with your child's teacher. In today's world, you can communicate via phone and email. Some teachers even have a web site. Introduce yourself at the beginning of the school year and invite the teacher to call you should any concerns or issues arise.
